Nestled atop a wooded bluff overlooking the Catawba River, sits Brakefield, the newest and most enchanted venue for event hosting the area has to offer.

Brakefield is unlike any other stand-alone event venue in this region. With its old-world European warmth and sophisticated charm, the unique architectural design invokes a feeling of “home” while old- world décor gives the venue a slight medieval feel upon entry and throughout. We are located within Riverwalk – a 1000 acre live/work/play community in northern Rock Hill, South Carolina.

We offer the simplicity & convenience of hosting all your special occasions – from weddings, receptions and anniversary celebrations, to family reunions, cocktail parties and corporate retreats – in one stunning location.

The Facility

The grey stone and stucco façade is adorned with flickering gas lanterns, and a rich Knotty Alder double entry door. Soaring spired roofs and a turret add to the European aesthetic of the Brakefield facility. Inside, you’ll find an ample entry hall with natural slate floors, and beautiful baroque lighting. We offer dual Bridal suites, one for lounging and one for hair makeup each with a large restroom. The turret provides for outstanding photography of the bride and her bridal party. This space has a 20 foot high ceiling and six 10 foot windows.. The Groom’s quarters is an un-paralled space housed within the Carriage House. It boasts masculine décor and has a fabulous river view from it’s deck. There is no other like it! The Green Room is beautifully appointed for use by wedding parties or as break-out meeting spaces for corporate gatherings. The nearly 3,000 square foot Grand Hall is perfect for grand receptions or more formal corporate events.

The Grounds

From the Grand Hall, five sets of eight foot French doors lead to the 1200 square foot covered patio, great for more intimate gatherings and special occasions. The breathtaking grounds at Brakefield include a back lawn and lush landscape overlooking the beautiful Catawba River and Carolina Thread Trail. This portion of the trail in North and South Carolina runs alongside two and a quarter miles of scenic river for amazing photographic opportunities.
